Perfect Poles for your Purpose + Budget

If you've been following my journey, you know that Copper Pony started in 2020 as "Copper Pony Poles." Over the years, I've personally painted hundreds of poles and spent countless hours researching lumber, finishes, supplies, paint, and different types of jump poles—not to mention planning fun patterns for future collections!
Today, I offer two distinct types of poles, each with its own advantages. Here’s a quick overview, including approximate pricing and what sets them apart.
Option No. 1 – Zero Maintenance Poly Wrap Wood Poles
Specifications:
- Diameter: 4" (100mm)
- Lengths: 1.8m, 2m, 2.4m, 3m, and 3.5m
- Weight Options: Light, middle, heavy, or super heavy (varies by length)
- Brand: Jump 4 Joy Show Jumps
- Price: Approximately $70–$140 each (depends on pattern, length, and weight)
These are some of my favourite poles. They offer the weight and rigidity of wood without the maintenance! Poly-wrapped for durability, they are fully customizable in length, pattern, colour, and weight, and they come with a five-year manufacturer’s guarantee.
Option No. 2 – Copper Pony Poles
Specifications:
- Length: 8ft
- Diameter: 3.15"
- Brand: Copper Pony Poles
- Price: $80 CAD each (regular, in-stock patterns, sold in sets)
- Availability: Seasonal
Copper Pony Poles are painted "heartwood" rails, a mill byproduct made from sustainably harvested fir from Vancouver Island forests. Each pole is dried, thoroughly sanded, filled, sanded again, primed, and finished with 2–3 coats of commercial-grade exterior acrylic paint. The result? A high-quality, great-value jump pole.
Things to keep in mind:
- They require maintenance to keep them looking their best.
- They are not currently available in 10ft lengths.
Maintenance Notes:
While our paint is the best option for this application, like all painted surfaces, it will chip and crack over time. For best performance, store your Copper Pony Poles off the ground, spaced apart, and out of the elements whenever possible. Touch-ups as needed will help extend their lifespan.
I hope this helps explain a few more details about our products. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
